Mughal suzerainty over much of India lasted nominally for about 300 years. However, it was the age of the Great Mughals, the 180 years from 1526 CE to 1707 CE, that really set the tone for what came after. At the height of its power, the writ of the empire ruled from Delhi to the southern-most parts of India.
Inb a one-hour virtual storytelling, we take a look at what it meant to be Mughal. Using an extensive array of paintings contemporary to the times we are looking at, we try and decipher what life was like in medieval India, what were their preoccupations and motivations. We also explore the link between what Mughal liufe actually was, and what we perceive it to be in populat opinion.
We will do this session on Zoom – you can experience Mughal life right from the comfort and safety of your homes!
