Built in 1893 by Sir Vicar ul Umra, the Prime Minister at the court of Mahbub Ali Pasha, the Sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, the Falaknuma Palace has been superbly restored and maintained by the Taj Group of Hotels. Currently an opulent luxury hotel, the functional part of the palace can be seen in all their grandeur after a sumptuous high tea at Celeste, one of the restaurants in the palace.
In a small group (max 8 pax) half-day tour lasting 4 hours, you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Falaknuma Hotel, where you can have the high tea and take a walking tour of the palace accompanied by a guide who will regale you with stories of the king’s life there. After this experience, you will be taken back to your hotel.
High Tea at Falaknuma Palace: Enjoy a selection of delectable high tea snacks, both English and Hyderabadi, in an extensive spread at Celeste, one of the Palace restaurants. It is highly recommended to skip lunch to make the most of this excellent spread! Optionally, you can have champagne to round off the luxury experience.
Falaknuma Palace Tour: Walk through the residence of the kings of Hyderabad and take in the lavish lifestyle of one of the richest monarchs in history. Marvel at the library of rare books and the opulence of the ballroom and the 101-seater dining table. Spend some time on the balcony taking in the fantastic views.
